More Love From MTV
by ardenkaywin on Tue May 04, 2010 1:11 am
I've been on a roll lately with MTV. First they use "Girl In A Man's World" on their hit show Jersey Shore and now they've used "Boys & Girls" in their show 16 And Pregnant.

I had never watched 16 And Preggers before, so when I found out they were using my music I watched an episode. I actually think it's a pretty good show. I can say without a shadow of a doubt that if I'd watched that show when I was in high school it would have completely scared me out of having sex for at least a decade!

Me, Snookie & The Jersey Shore
by ardenkaywin on Wed Feb 03, 2010 1:30 am

I'm pleased to announce that after many years, I've finally reached the pinnacle of American pop culture. Like Mozart in Vienna and Picasso in the south of France, I have finally found my cultural home. . . .The Jersey Shore!

Yes my friends, my song "Girl In A Man's World" appears in MTV's latest reality phenomenon, The Jersey Shore. They're also promoting the song on The Jersey Shore website which is pretty cool.

Hope you check it out. In the mean time, I'm off to get a spray tan and then pick a bar fight.

My first holiday single. . . . . story & lyrics
by ardenkaywin on Tue Dec 08, 2009 11:27 pm
This year, for the first time, I'm releasing a holiday single. I've never written a holiday song before - I guess I was never inspired to. But this year something happened, I fell in love and whad'ya know? I got inspired! No matter what religion you are, aren't the holidays inherently about being with the people we love, and spreading love to those around us? So that's what my new holiday song "If Everyday Were Christmas" is about. Here are the lyrics. Check it out on my home page.

It's snowing tonight and you're by my side
We're waiting for Christmas here by the fire
I'll snuggle tight as the winds outside bit
It's almost Christmas, peaceful and white

Oh, if everyday was Christmas all through the...

Are albums dead?
by ardenkaywin on Thu Nov 12, 2009 8:05 pm
Since I got back from tour I've been taking it easy on the booking front. I didn't schedule any shows through the end of the year so I can concentrate on writing and recording a few new things, and I've come to the conclusion that I'm not going to release another album in the traditional sense of the word. Instead, I'm thinking about releasing my new material as singles in 2010. The idea is to release a song a month. By the end of the year it will add up to an album's worth of songs, but released one at a time. I know some of you are thinking that I've jumped on the bandwagon to pronounce that "the album is dead". It's not, and I don't believe that it is. But I'm curious to see what will happen if I experiment with another model. What do you...

I'm A Road Warrior
by ardenkaywin on Thu Jul 16, 2009 7:27 pm
It’s day 6 of my tour with Keaton Simons and Curtis Peoples. I’m in the van with the boys and they never stop cracking me up. Keaton and I have been designated “the hippies” because we sit in the back and eat fruit and granola bars instead of fast food. I call Phil (our drummer) the “little bird” because of his passion for cracking sunflower seeds. Ziv (guitar player) and Dan (bassist) are competing for the title of tour smart-ass. Neither one of them ever misses a beat - they’re endlessly entertaining. The boys call Brittany (tour manager) “mom” because she makes sure we are all on time and that we don’t forget anything at the hotel. All in all it’s a really great group. Curtis has done a great job choosing the venues. Each place we've played has been...

Watching evloution
by ardenkaywin on Wed Jul 01, 2009 5:06 am
I’m sitting in my house at the moment listening to the sounds of the construction workers as they completely demolish my kitchen. It’s pretty exciting. When I come back from my tour I will come home to a brand new kitchen. I’m a bit of a foodie so the thought of a new stove and clean, new counter tops sounds like heaven (trust me, I know how dorky that sounds). The renovation of this kitchen has taken on a bit of a metaphoric quality in my life these days – deconstructing the old that doesn’t work, and rebuilding it into what does. I think that when I look back at this summer, I will think of it as the summer when I went from being a kid to officially being an adult. I have always had a bit of a Peter Pan complex, and being in the music biz definitely...
