Homeland
Music and Lyrics by Arden Kaywin © 2004
A painted portrait of a lonely life,
An undone record of time gone by.
We’re out here searching for who we are,
Is the life we want to lead a life we’ve lead so far?
And I know we struggle to be good.
And I know we struggle to feel we’re living like we should,
And so it’s time to go back to the homeland of the soul.
We look in the mirror and why can’t we be
Satisfied with the people we see?
We play the game looking inside out,
But then it’s hard to see, it’s not about me.
And I know we struggle to be good.
And I know we struggle to feel we’re living like we should,
And so it’s time to go back to the homeland of the soul.
I’ve gotta get out of my head, cause sooner or later we’ll all be gone.
Wondering when it’ll end, or whether it goes on and on and on and on.
I am full of fire, gotta find a way to let it go.
Cause I know that I’ve gotta let it go back to the place where I belong,
Back to the homeland of the soul.
And I know we struggle to be good.
And I know we struggle to feel we’re living….(whoa, yeah)
In the homeland of the soul.
So take me back to my home.
